Sail America has published a preliminary brochure detailing plans for its Industry Conference taking place June 22-24, 2015 at the Hyatt Regency Newport, Newport, RI. The brochure can be downloaded at SailAmerica.com/events/saic

The preliminary brochure includes information about the conference's 15+ educational sessions, special events such as the Sailing Industry Dinner and Raffle, Sail America's Regatta and general information about the event.

For 2015, Sail America has compiled an impressive list of speakers focusing on Marketing, Business and Sailing  that include; Jeanne Hopkins from Continuum Managed IT Services, Matt Sellhorst from Boat Dealer Profits, Michelle Girasole from Fresh, LLC and Sally Helme from Bonnier Corporation.

Other presenters include Mark Davis from Sailors for the Sea, Chris Sheehy from Sidewalk Branding Company, Chuck Murphy from Boston Interactive, David Bohonnon from Bohonnon Law accompanied by Vin Petrella from YBAA, Eric Braitmayer from IMTRA, Russ Graham from Rushton Gregory Communications and Mari Anne Snow from Sophia Think.

Jack Gierhart of US Sailing will be leading a Grow Sailing discussion. Also joining us will be Stanton Murray of Murray Yacht Sales, Charlie Zechel and Nate Fristoe of RRC Associates.  Session topics include marketing to customers' lifecycle, engaging new sailing audiences and industry growth, and marketing solutions from lessons that have been learned through the ski industry.

CANADIAN BOATING WRITER JONATHAN LEE HOSPITALIZED

Jonathan LeeWe were saddened last week to learn that well-known Canadian boating writer Jonathan Lee has been hospitalized following a severe stroke. The former editor of Boatguide, Boating Business and Ports Cruising Guides remains in critical care at Hamilton General Hospital, where it is hoped he will ultimately make a full recovery. Industry colleagues may send cards care of the Hamilton General Hospital stroke unit. In lieu of flowers, donations on Jonathan’s behalf to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
