NIX ON KNICKKNACKS, KNOCK OFF NECKTIES: 30 YEARS OF ULTIMATE SAILING BOOK TOPS SAILORS’ HOLIDAY LIST

Ultimate Sailing

Neckties and knickknacks can’t hold a (vanilla-scented) candle to 30 YEARS OF ULTIMATE SAILING – the luxurious coffee table book from primo photographer Sharon Green that is tops on sailors’ lists for the holiday.

Extreme excitement leaps off each of the 224 full-color pages. America’s most famous sailor, Gary Jobson, said, “As you browse through this breathtaking book, you’ll be transported aboard every boat. The combination of clarity and motion is magic.”

Olympian and America’s Cup sailor Annie Gardner called it, “A ‘wow!’ on every page!”

This extraordinary retrospective features the cream-of-the-crop of images from Green’s 35-year career as a yachting photographer; capturing the world’s greatest athletes and campaigns, in some of the world’s most sublime venues.

Green opens each chapter with an insight, and her introduction is engaging. Hundreds of vibrant images are complemented by inspirational essays from leading sailors, including John Bertrand, Paul Cayard, Annie Gardner, Lars Grael, Stan Honey, Philippe Kahn, John Kilroy, Jerry Kirby, Buddy Melges, Martha Parker, Ken Read, Jimmy Spithill and the late John Thomson. The foreword is by The Curmudgeon himself – Tom Leweck, and the biography is penned by yachting journalist Betsy Crowfoot, with captions by Rob Grant.

30 Years of Ultimate Sailing is sumptuously printed on durable stock, spot varnished, in a generous 11.5-inch by 10.5-inch format and available at select retailers and online at the www.ultimatesailing.com website.
