BRUNSWICK’S REYNOSA FACILITY SURPASSES FOUR-MILLION HOURS WITHOUT A LOST-TIME INCIDENT

Brunswick’s Reynosa manufacturing facility in Mexico has recorded a major safety milestone, reporting more than four-million hours, or close to three years, without a lost-time incident.

The Reynosa plant, which has been in the Brunswick family since 2002, manufacturers four boat brands, Bayliner, Sea Ray, HeyDay and Lund Fiberglass Sport Boats ranging from 16 to 25 feet.

“This is a remarkable accomplishment and a testament to the hard work and dedication to safety by all of our employees in Reynosa,” said Keith Yunger, Bayliner president. “This achievement highlights our commitment to continuous improvement and attention to detail.  We are dedicated, at all of our plants, to create a culture that delivers the best possible product to our customers for an enjoyable boating experience.”

“I’ve been employed by Brunswick for 34 years and have been part of many achievements and awards, and none are more rewarding than being part of the Reynosa Facility Safety achievement award,” said Mike Fritts, Bayliner vice president of operations. “To run a world-class manufacturing facility, everyone must be committed to safety and quality.  I am proud to say that we have not only achieved our goals but are on pace to set a new standard for safety in the entire industry.”

The Reynosa facility has had a great deal of success over the past few years; winners of five consecutive Brunswick Distinguished Awards, seven consecutive CSI Awards and the 2018 LSS BB Chairman’s Award.

The plant abides by a very strong vision that states, “Through the talent and constant development of our people, we will be leaders in boat manufacturing and product innovation, under a respectful, discipline, development and safety work environment, achieving operational excellence and continuous improvement.”

“The first major shift towards a culture of safety began with a commitment from every employee at the facility,” said Fritts. “We have emphasized 6S and LSS to create an environment of teamwork where every employee can contribute to our safety efforts and be a part of our success.”

This is the second major safety milestone reached by a Brunswick manufacturing facility in the last two weeks as the Ft. Wayne Operations recently surpassed two-million hours without a lost-time incident.
