House of CommonsNational Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) announced that on Thursday May 23rd, 2013, Member of Parliament (MP) Dan Albas, Okanagan-Coquihalla, made reference to his meetings with members of NMMA in the House of Commons during a debate on Bill S-12. In his remarks, Albas cites concerns made by members of NMMA as evidence for the need to improve trade for Canadian industries. THE MARITIME MUSEUM OF BRITISH COLUMBIA PLANS TO REINVENT ITSELF AS THE CANADIAN MARITIME MUSEUM

Four years ago, the Maritime Museum of British Columbia (MMBC) lost its premises at 28 Bastion Square, a historic building it had occupied for more than 50 years. Some fallen plaster and several leaks had caused the Province, who owns the National Historic Site, to judge the structure unsafe and therefore asked MMBC to vacate the property. The Museum was forced to pack up its vast collections and put them in storage, thus keeping them mostly hidden from the public, scholars and historians.
