Boating OntarioAs the Boating Ontario Annual Conference approaches, the time has come to nominate those you feel have made or continue to make significant contributions to Ontario’s recreational boating industry.  These awards are presented to organizations, businesses, and individuals that demonstrate outstanding contributions to recreational boating in Ontario. Please see the attached nomination forms; a brief description of each award can be found here.  Nominations are due by October 17th, 2019 at 4pm.

These prestigious awards will be presented at the Awards Gala following the President's Dinner on Tuesday, November 26th in Niagara Falls.

TORQEEDO POWERS ALL-ELECTRIC HARBOUR WATER CLEAN-UP BOAT

Torqeedo PowersThe Waste Cleaner 66 – billed as the world’s most powerful all-electric boat designed for cleaning up pollution in inland waterways and harbours – will be unveiled by EFINOR’s Sea Cleaner subsidiary at the International Nautic Boat Show in Paris-Porte de Versailles 7 to 15 December. 

The unique vessel is powered by a Torqeedo 25kW Deep Blue motor with a 40 kWh Deep Blue battery, which provides up to eight hours of endurance at a cleaning speed of two knots.

ROYAL VICTORIA YACHT CLUB SECURES HIGHEST ECO-RANKING IN CLEAN MARINE BC RECERTIFICATION OF ITS CADBORO BAY MARINA 

Clean MarineThe Royal Victoria Yacht Club’s Cadboro Bay marina has earned the highest certification in Clean Marine BC, a voluntary eco-certification program for recreational boating facilities that is run by Georgia Strait Alliance.

To be eligible for Clean Marine BC certification, boating facilities must meet environmental standards set by the program and are awarded a ranking that ranges from one to five anchors. These anchor ratings reflect operational practices and initiatives that help to reduce the impact of recreational boating in local fresh and saltwater throughout British Columbia.

OCEAN SAFETY PRESENTS UPDATED OCEAN ISO LIFERAFT CONTAINER

Liferaft CanisterOcean Safety has developed a new container for its Ocean ISO Liferaft, reducing weight and making the raft easier to handle, a critical factor when launching it over the side of a vessel. The Ocean ISO is one of the most popular liferafts on the market and the latest design evolution of the container is developed from years of customer feedback, industry expertise and research.   

This new Ocean ISO container had its debut at the METSTRADE 2019 show.
