QUADRANT MARINE INSTITUTE – UPCOMING INDUSTRY TRAINING: NMEA & IIMS

These 2 industry training opportunities are coming up in March in Sidney and Vancouver:
 
The West Coast Boatyard Association is hosting their annual NMEA training in Sidney this spring with special discounts for WCBA members and Quadrant Marine Service Technician apprentices. Register now for classes: March 03 – 06, 2020.

Tuesday March 3 – Marine Electronics Installer

Wednesday March 4 – Basic NMEA 2000 Installer

Thursday March 5 – Advanced Marine Electronics Installer

Friday March 6 – Advanced NMEA 2000 Installer

Special rates are available for WCBA members!  The WCBA rate is $450 CDN (regular rate is $650 USD) per course, except for Advanced NMEA 2000 Installer which is $650 CDN (regular rate is $850 USD).  Lunch, training materials (including a copy of the 0400 Installation Standard), and the exam certification fee are all included.

The 2020 International Institute of Marine Surveying Canada Conference will be hosted in the Lonsdale Quay Hotel in North Vancouver on Friday, March 6, and Saturday, March 7, 2020.

The conference will be a two-day educational event with subjects appealing to all disciplines of marine surveyors.

All industry professionals are invited to participate.

The reduced rate for Quadrant MST students is not on the website. If students would like to attend, they should email Sarah White directly at info@iimscanada.ca. The conference will host speakers on multiple subjects of interest to different disciplines of Marine Surveying.

CPD points will apply to all IIMS attendees, none IIMS members should check with their organisation’s policy for CE’s or CPD’s.

A cocktail party and dinner evening are scheduled for Friday night, facilitating networking opportunities with industry cohorts and event speakers.

The cost for the two-day attendance is $240 (Students $180) and includes lunch both days and the cocktail evening and dinner on Friday, March 6.

Video conferencing will also be available to those unable to attend in person $200 (Students $120).

The Lonsdale Quay Hotel has offered a special room rate of $145 for conference attendees. Early registration is encouraged, as rooms will be going quickly.
