There are few things that put a spark in the eye of an avid boater more than the mention of the BENETEAU brand. The French company has, after all, been a force in the industry for more than 136 years – designing and manufacturing some of the most innovative, luxurious and awarded range of sailing yachts and motorboats on the market. Yet, this year, the company may have even outdone itself with introduction of its new Gran Turismo 36 – made and manufactured in Cadillac, Michigan for the US market. As its name infers, the Gran Turismo 36 was built for distance and speed with 2 x 350 horsepower inboard or outboard engine options. Yet, luxury is at the soul of the nearly 38-foot-long watercraft, which includes detailed features focused on both comfort and function.

Gran Turismo 36 Interior“We’re really excited about this vessel as it captures the ideal blend of sports performance and creature comforts plus, she is perfect for entertaining. It also means a great deal to us that the boat was 100 percent built in our Michigan facility,” said Justin Joyner, BENETEAU. “We have set the standard for quality and architecture for over a century and we do not take that responsibility lightly. We are very proud of the new Gran Turismo 36 and are excited to introduce it to the international boating community.”

The boat’s outer deck layout is optimized for four people with its two forward-facing bench seats at the helm while the spacious cockpit lounge fits up to seven. The aft bench seats can likewise be folded back to convert the area to a sunbathing space. An outdoor galley and swim platform round out the outer deck features. Below deck, the forward owner cabin encompasses a full-sized bed, panoramic windows and ample storage; while the aft guest cabin provides two berths separated by a door. Midship is a lounge that seats three and galley outfitted with high quality appliances. Separate shower and toilet spaces are partitioned off from the vanity and heating and air conditioning come standard.

Gran Turismo 36 LoungeOften referred to as the Avant-Garde in Boating, BENETEAU has been family-owned and operated since 1884 and is today one of the oldest family-operated boat building yards in the world. Throughout its history, the company has developed a comprehensive range of sailing yachts and motorboats adapted to boaters’ different needs. Over the decades, BENETEAU has continually won awards and recognition for its one-of-a-kind style, design, technology, materials, processes, production and services.

Managed ownership and seasonal programs for the Gran Turismo 36 are now available. For more information, go to www.BENETEAU.com/us.
