OCEAN SAFETY’S NEW ISO APPROVED SAFETY LADDER

Kim Safety Ladder

Ocean Safety, a 3Si Group company and specialists in the worldwide supply, distribution, service and hire of marine safety equipment, has developed its KIM ladder range to meet the new ISO 15085 approval. Designed for recovering a person who has fallen overboard, this simple to install ladder can be retro-fitted to yachts and is especially useful for shorthanded sailing, since it can be released by a person in the water from where it is fastened to a fitting point on the yacht’s handrail or toerail.

The KIM Safety Ladder has been developed by Ocean Safety’s technical team in conjunction with Oyster Yachts. The project satisfies the exacting ISO 15085 requirement which specifies design, construction and strength requirements of MOB and re-boarding products. It also fulfils the MCA Code of Practice requirements for MOB recovery equipment.

The KIM Safety Ladder is available in lengths to fit a whole range of freeboard heights from 2.5m to 4.5m. While not in use it is stored discreetly in a compact white PVC valise and can be fastened to the yacht with adjustable buckles
