TRīB OUTDOOR TECH LAUNCHES THE airCap™ PRESSURE GAUGE FOR OPTIMIZING INFLATABLE PERFORMANCE

Aircap Pressure Gauge

Mar 12, 2019

TRīB Outdoors Tech has launched the first ever pressure gauge cap for inflatable SUP’s, RIB’s and whitewater rafts. Erik Cegnar, co-Founder of TRīB Outdoor Tech said, “The airCap™ is designed to make it easy for people to know the precise pressure in their inflatable at all times.  While it is a simple concept, it involved serious design engineering to make the digital display as large as possible, with a thin internal electronic chip snuggly recessed into the cap for durability and waterproofing.” The airCap accurately measures up to 20 PSI, which is more than double the standard recommendation for most RIB’s.

Performance

Until now, inflatable users had to insert a dial pressure gauge into an air chamber every time they wanted a reading and then replace the cap as they head off onto the water.  The problem is pressure changes with temperature which can be caused by icy water or a noon day sun, as well as elevation and of course, an undetected leak.  Consequently, most inflatables are not used at their optimal pressure which affects performance, safety and the life of the craft.  The airCap has proprietary technology that delivers a high accuracy reading to a fraction of a PSI on the LCD display.  Select airCap models come with over-pressure alarm options to prevent bursting or deterioration at the seams.  Paddlers and boaters can now ensure that before, during and after they hit the water, their inflatable is safely at its best performance capability.

Plug & Go

Simply remove your existing valve cap and screw on the airCap to get an immediate pressure reading, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.  The device is solar powered, so there is no need for changing or stocking batteries.  If a night time read is required, a headlamp directed on the display is enough power to get a reading. Built to last, the display is sealed and water submersible.

Availability

The airCap LF is compatible with Leafield C7/D7 valves that are found on many inflatables and the company will be adding another version for Halkey-Roberts style valves this spring. The dimension is the same as a conventional valve cap, measuring 2.8” in diameter.  Designed for affordability at $34.95, the airCap is ideal for permanent use on all your air chambers.  Visit www.triboutdoor.com to purchase online or find a retailer near you.
