Keynote Breakfast Briefing speech on global trends and opportunities in marine equipment world

The 2017 METSTRADE Show opening ceremony – ‘Breakfast Briefing’ – held on 14 November, will include a keynote address by Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Brunswick Corporation, Mark D. Schwabero. His presentation, entitled ‘Global Marine Trends and Opportunities’, will mark the opening of the Briefing – which will also feature the award ceremony for the world-famous DAME Design Award. Hosted by the International Council of Marine Industry Associations (ICOMIA), the much anticipated Breakfast Briefing is held annually on the first day of the METSTRADE Show and attracts hundreds of global representatives from a wide range of companies within the industry.

Cross-cutting vision

Mark D. Schwabero’s presentation will explore the connections between the marine leisure sector and other areas of industrial manufacturing – including how marine leisure compares with other industries. Leveraging on his unique perspective as an industry leader, he will provide insights into the challenges that the marine sector is facing and the best ways to overcome them. After the Breakfast Briefing, Schwabero will also give an interview on the InnovationLAB Stage and meet with young professionals from the METSTRADE Young Professionals Club.

A long and distinguished career

Mark D. Schwabero started his career in the automotive equipment sector, working for renowned companies such as Navistar International, Bosch Braking Systems North America, Pilkington Libbey-Owens-Ford and Hendrickson International. He became president of Mercury Marine in 2008, and moved to Brunswick Corporation as president and chief operating officer in 2014. He became chair and CEO at the same company in 2016.

About the METSTRADE Show

The METSTRADE Show is the world’s largest trade exhibition of equipment, materials and systems for the international marine leisure industry. Organised by RAI Amsterdam in association with ICOMIA (International Council of Marine Industry Associations), it includes three dedicated specialist areas: theSuperYacht Pavilion, the Marina & Yard Pavilion and the Construction Material Pavilion. The 2017 METSTRADE Show will be held from 14 to 16 November in the RAI Amsterdam Convention Centre.
