Excellent Results At The 2011 Port Credit Boat Show

Spectacular, best-of-the-season weather on Saturday, August 27 helped the 2011 Port Credit Boat Show to get off to a solid start. Crowds were good and the vendors seemed pleased with the first day.

Then, the winds of Hurricane Irene swept through on Sunday, but there was no rain in the cloudy skies, no damage resulted from the high winds and it seemed as though the weather blew away the tire kickers.

Lori Mason of The Store in Port Credit and show organizer summed it up this way, “Boat dealers are selling boats and the land displays are selling their wares. It’s been another successful year for the Port Credit Boat Show with both more vendors and also more brokers taking part in the show, too.”

She went on to say that while this would not be a record year, it was the usual good results for the show participants. Perhaps most importantly, the yacht brokers felt that the buyers did indeed come out and people were definitely making sales.

One broker commented that it seemed as though people have had enough bad news or anguish over stock market gyrations and global politics and that they just want to get on with their lives and their plans. The results of the Port Credit show are encouraging and point to the likelihood of sales increases in the future.
