Montreal Classic Boat Festival Planned for August

The 2011 Montreal Classic Boat Festival hosted by the Heritage Maritime Canada, will be held at the Quays of the Old Port of Montreal, in downtown Montreal on 19, 20 and 21 of August 2011.

Classic Boats, Tugs and Sailboats will be on display in the heart of Montreal! This is an urban maritime event with a unique French twist. The in-water boat show will be accompanied by land displays, live music, workshops, seminars and a marketplace. Also, this is a judged show which generally attracts some of the best and most beautiful boats, vying for the prizes and recognition.

The 2011 event will be the third annual Montreal Classic Boat Festival. The organizers and guests are passionate about these classic designs. As much as Montreal has benefited from its glorious maritime past, her maritime image needed a refreshed outlook!  The Montreal Classic Boat Festival thrives on this new image.  In addition to promoting the nautical tourism and maritime routes of the Lachine Canal and the St-Lawrence River, by attracting boat owners to come to Montreal to show off their boats, the Montreal Classic Boat Festival puts a lot effort into attracting local and international classic boat builders promoting the excellence of their work, but more importantly, enhancing the trends of classic boats, their history and design.

In addition to the show and events in the Old Port of Montreal, in downtown Montreal, this year the organizers plan a river run from Lake Champlain all the way to Montreal.  They are expecting around 30 classic boats to be navigating through the nautical routes from August 16 to18 and making different stops along the way to the show.

The association is very well supported and virtually any significant marine electronics company that you could name, was represented there on the Exhibitor list at the Expo as well as all being NMEA members and very supportive of the organization.
