The 2011 ‘Club BRP’ event in Montreal, Quebec is the largest dealer meeting and product presentation in the BRP organization’s history with an estimated 10,000 people attending.

Presentations were made by many key BRP executives including BRP President and CEO, José Boisjoli and Yves Leduc, Vice-President and General Manager of BRP’s North America Division.

The most important aspect of the event was not the huge numbers of attendees, although that is remarkable, but it is the depth of new product innovation on display.

Nothing captures the emotional spark and performance excitement better than the brand new 2012 Sea-Doo RXP-X 260. The new RXP-X shares DNA from previous milestone Sea-Doo models including the lean-in riding style of the XP and the raw supercharged power and presence of the RXP. BRP invented the Musclecraft segment in 1991 with the historic Sea-Doo XP model, the first high-performance watercraft. BRP reinvented high-performance on the water in 1997 with the third generation Sea-Doo XP model allowing the rider to corner with a lean-in style handling. The 2004 Sea-Doo RXP model was the next high-performance benchmark from BRP becoming the first ROTAX 4-TEC powered musclecraft commanding attention with an ominous design and dominating PWC races worldwide.

BRP’s 2012 Sea-Doo RXP-X 260 redefines what a rider can do on a watercraft, as its designed to be ridden harder with less effort while boosting rider control and confidence. This watercraft gives the rider what competitors will consider an unfair advantage. The 2012 RXP-X features a new level in integration of ergonomics, power, handling and rider input with all the benefits of certain iControl technologies including the award winning iBR (intelligent Brake & Reverse) system making this new model one of the most complete musclecraft units ever created.

Handling was greatly enhanced by the introduction of the ‘Ergolock’ system which  was developed to give the rider a more direct connection with the machine to fully utilize the supercharged high-output power longer and more efficiently. The innovation centers on a completely rethought, body molding, racing saddle. The new RXP-X seat features a gradually narrowing design to provide more surface area to help better connect the rider to the watercraft reducing upper body fatigue. The new design also allows complete freedom in movement to transition from a seated to a standing position and back again.

Newly shaped and angled footwell wedges aid the rider to “dig” his feet in for better traction further enhancing the connection. BRP’s Ergolock system complements the new T3 hull, a revolutionary new design concept that provides an aggressive lean-in turning characteristic and penetrates chop better than any of its musclecraft predecessors. T3 stands for tight-turning t-hull and uses an advanced dual surface hull design with a unique combination of soft and hard chines that engages the water with a suction force when leaning into a corner. This allows the rider to turn tighter and faster without fear of transom slide. The T3 hull offers stability at idle speeds and unmatched acceleration from a wide wetted running surface then transitions to the second narrow surface.

BRP’s T3 hull also features new, race inspired dual axis adjustable sponsons and trim tabs for handling customization. The lean-in characteristics of the new 2012 RXP-X 260 emulates more closely a motorcycle turning style than a traditional, flatter turning watercraft style minimizing fatigue and strain, allowing the rider to enter and exit turns with more precision and power and, substantially reducing lap times.

The new RXP-X 260 is the embodiment of innovation and performance excitement to characterize the whole 2012 line of BRP products.
