Workshop on New Technologies and Manufacturing at METS
The International Council of Marine Industry Associations (ICOMIA) and European Boatbuilder proudly present the fourth edition of Workshop on New Technologies and Manufacturing to be held at METS Trade Show on Wednesday 14 November 2012.
Workshop on New Technologies and Manufacturing is tailored for boat builders operating internationally and will feature topics such as future yacht design, natural fibres, noise reduction, pre-pregs in production building, quality assurance and boat-building regulations in China. The Workshop's primary objective is to discuss available technologies and business practices which are easy to implement in manufacturing.
Confirmed speakers so far include the renowned Van Peteghem / Lauriot-Prévost (VPLP), the naval Architects responsible for designing the world-record-breaking Banque Populaire V, Uli Heinemann (IMCI) speaking on Quality Assurance and Andrew Spendiff of composite specialists, Amber Composites.
“I’m delighted to say that this event improves each year, and attendance increases as the word gets around”, says Udo Kleinitz, ICOMIA’s Technical Manager. “Our focus is on new technologies, processes and design solutions that are of practical use to boatbuilders today, and can help improve their products and reduce costs”.
The workshop is co-organised with European Boatbuilder Magazine and is set to take place on METS Wednesday, 13.30-17.00. The event is completely free to attend but early registration is encouraged to avoid disappointment.
