Boat Builder Alert – Nova Scotia Boatbuilders Association Holds CE300 Course

The Nova Scotia Boatbuilders Association (NSBA) will be holding a 3-day CE Standards (CE300) Course at the Atlantic Beer Institute in the Brewery Market Building in Halifax, on October 11th to 13th, 2011.

Facilitated by ABYC, this course will provide a comprehensive and focused look at key ABYC standards and their corresponding ISO standards. Learn step-by-step how to ship your boats internationally. Class discussion will address paperwork and documentation and specific compliance issues relevant to engineers, installers, compliance inspectors and marine surveyors who produce or provide boats for both the American and European market, but you may also find it useful to attend if you are an owner-operator, manager, builder, or team lead who is involved in the planning of projects. Common non-compliance areas will be discussed and how to address these issues in both the factory and field environments. Time will be given to all relevant ISO standards that do not have equivalent ABYC standards. If you plan to sell goods and services on the global market, now is your chance to take the training in the convenient location of Halifax, and at a fraction of the cost you would pay for traveling to the US or hosting the course at your own jobsite.

The fee to register is $450.00 CAN plus HST for NSBA Members and $500.00 CAN plus HST for Non-NSBA Members. Meals and refreshments are not included, but there are a number of low-price options in and out of the building. Study guides are included in the course fee. Registrants will receive a certificate of completion upon completing the course. If you would like to attend or register an employee, please complete the attached form and email the information or fax back to the NSBA office by September 23rd. Registration and full payment of fees on or before the 23rd is required to be in attendance. If you have any questions, please contact Toba Offman by calling 902-423-2378 or emailing nsbatraining@eastlink.ca.

CMRA

As of July 1st, 2024 the embargo is lifted on the photos and information about Four Winns’ new H9 model and it is stunning!

About a month ago, I traveled to Charlevoix, MI for a special press event to introduce the H9 to a small group of journalists.
