MarineMax Vacations Announces New 38-Foot Power Catamarans

MarineMax Vacations is pleased to announce the addition of power catamarans to its charter fleet. Initially, 10 new and well-equipped power catamarans will be available for charter beginning on June 1, 2012, at the MarineMax Vacations charter base in the British Virgins Islands, operating from the beautiful Hodges Creek Marina. The MarineMax 382 is a customized Aquila 38 Power Cat, designed by the internationally famous naval architect team of Morelli and Melvin based out of Los Angeles and built by Sino Eagle Yachts based out of Fuyang City, China.

“We are extremely pleased to offer our customers a modern power catamaran with particular emphasis on improving comfort on board,” said Raul Bermudez, VP of Sales and Marketing at MarineMax Vacations. “With a forward walk-through from the huge fly-bridge, electric stove, water maker, electric barbeque grill, wireless connectivity, genset, air conditioning and water maker, we are confident that these two-cabin, two-head power cats will deliver the comfort standards that MarineMax Vacations demands for our customers.”

Power Catamarans are the “Cats Whiskers” for cruising the tropics. Catamarans offer unrivalled comfort in the tropics and have quickly grown in popularity amongst vacationers in the majority of cruising destinations in the world, particularly the Caribbean. Most customers embark on a self-drive, one-week cruise (captains available on request) with friends and/or family, deciding their itinerary as they go.

“We are excited to offer power boaters the opportunity to cruise in comfort on board one of our MarineMax 382s that offers incredible living comfort, ease of handling, efficiency, a huge fly bridge and, most importantly, ease of access to the water aft for favorite toys and fun,” said Lex Raas, President of MarineMax Vacations. “Our focus is to deliver the best vacation with unparalleled customer service.”

MarineMax Vacations already operates 13 new Dufour sailing yachts from the British Virgin Islands. Adding 10 new MarineMax 382s and additional boats to be ordered, there will be more than 30 boats to choose from.
