Reporting to the Business Planning Manager, the Marine & PE Product Planner works as part of a dedicated team to ensure that future Marine and Power Equipment products are developed to meet Canadian market needs and achieve sales and profitability targets with the goal of contributing to increased market share.
What To Expect:
-Analyze competitive strengths and weaknesses of the current product, including price, features, quality, and customer satisfaction with the product;
-Gather information from Dealers, Customers, etc. to understand our product needs;
-Prepare and present evidence/ facts that support requests to Research & Development;
-Represent Honda Canada and negotiate our needs to American Honda, Honda Motor, R&D, and North American Factories;
-Support Sales, Communications (Adv, PR), Training, Quality Engineering, and Customer Relations activities by ensuring the accuracy of the information that may be published or presented;
-Coordinate new model launch activities by ensuring multiple departments’ activities tie into the Sales Funnel.
Qualifications:
-3 – 5 years of relevant, progressive business experience with a proven track record of delivering results.
-Post-Secondary education, preferably with a degree in Business, Marketing or Engineering.
-Previous Marine or PE Dealership in Sales or Service is a definite asset.
-Strong leadership and investigative skills.
-Excellent knowledge of Canadian Marine, Power Products, and Power Sports markets.
-Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and engineering functions for Marine and PE products
-Proven background with emphasis on analytical abilities and spotting trends.
-Comfortable presenting proposals to a senior-level audience.
-Demonstrated ability to successfully complete multiple concurrent high-priority projects.
-Adaptability, flexibility and the ability to maintain effectiveness during change.
-Ability to work in partnership with the broader team to drive business goals.
-Technically grounded in MS Word applications
-A high level of individual initiative and ability to work with minimal direction.
-Excellent interpersonal, presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
-Ability to follow through and complete overlapping projects and initiatives with a positive impact on results and objectives.
-Willingness to work irregular hours. Some overtime is required.
Able to travel frequently and at times over weekends.
French language ability is an asset.
Valid Driver’s license and the ability to drive motorcycles and Marine products.
Develops and maintains good working relationships and all members of the team.
Develops and maintains good working relationships within Honda North America as well as all other internal and external stakeholders.
Develop, establish and maintain good working relationship with Honda North America suppliers, partners, consultants, stakeholders and other network contacts.
