“SHOW US THE LOVE” TORONTO BOAT SHOW CHALLENGES

Toronto Boat Show Photo Contest

In 2nd Annual "I Love Boating" photo contest, boaters enter their best digital images vying for top honours, Pentax cameras and shopping sprees The Toronto International Boat Show has announced a nationwide photo contest, calling for entries from Canadians coast to coast who are taking to the water in droves this summer. The 2nd annual I Love Boating photo contest begins on the May long weekend v coinciding with the official launch of the 2013 boating season.

Boating enthusiasts are invited to upload up to 10 of their favourite digital photographs to be considered for three grand prizes, each including a Pentax WG-3 GPS Adventure Proof Digital Camera and a $500 shopping spree at the boat show, January 11 to 19, 2014. Ten honourable mention winners will each win a $100 shopping spree.

"When we first launched our I Love Boating photo contest in summer 2012, well over 1,000 diverse and compelling images flooded our contest photo gallery on TorontoBoatShow.com," says Boat Show Manager Cynthia Hare. "If a picture is worth 1,000 words, then 1,000 pictures speak volumes about why recreational boating is so popular in Canada that 38% of Canadians v that?s 10.5 million of us v go boating each year."

With so many enthusiastic boaters and photographers out there, it was difficult for judges to select winners, says Hare. But they embraced the challenge, and the judges? top picks ranged from a wave-hopping wakeboarder?s self-portrait, to the artistic stillness of a sleeping marina captured with long-release photography, and an impish, water-winged toddler enjoying fun in the lake.

"We had to select 13 winners, but each image sharing precious times spent with family and friends on Canada's waterways and beyond, is a winner!"

Contest details, including the complete Contest Rules and Regulations, will be posted onTorontoBoatShow.com on or before May 18, 2013.
