COBALT BOATS AND VOLVO PENTA CELEBRATE 44 YEAR PARTNERSHIP

Volvo Penta 2015

Volvo Penta and Cobalt Boats recently celebrated its long standing partnership at the Cobalt headquarters in Neodesha, Kansas on June 24, 2015. Since 1971, Cobalt and Volvo Penta have worked together to grow boating in the marine sector.“Cobalt and Volvo Penta have a long history of innovation, and together we are proud to work together as leaders in the industry. Volvo Penta and Cobalt celebrated 44 years of a great relationship with each other, as well as the fantastic group of dealers and customers that the relationship has produced.” Volvo commemorated the special day with an engraved silver plate and by providing team t-shirts and ice cream to more than 600 associates. “Cobalt has enjoyed success through the years with Volvo Penta, and we appreciate the support of our relationship every day. On behalf of our associates here in Neodesha, we sincerely appreciate the recognition – and the ice cream!” said Paxson St. Clair, CEO of Cobalt.

Volvo Penta is part of the Volvo Group, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of heavy trucks, buses and construction equipment. Volvo Penta invented the stern drive and the duo-prop drive, and they have recently unveiled the Forward Drive. Uniquely engineered with two forward-facing counter-rotating props that pull the boat through the water rather than pushing it, Forward Drive gives boaters new found versatility. The result is higher top speeds and faster acceleration than comparable inboard shaft single prop systems.
