“Sarah’s expertise in creating and managing a quality technical marine education program combined with excellent marketing and social media skills make her a perfect fit for this position and we are thrilled to welcome Sarah back to the team as the Director of Education,” said Anne Dunbar, Show Director of IBEX.  “In addition to managing the expected and excellent core technical education Sarah will also be responsible for making the changes necessary to take the IBEX Seminar Series to the next level.  We are confident she will develop an exceptional technical educational program working in conjunction with our partners Professional BoatBuilder magazine and the events’ education partners – ABYC, ABBRA, NMMA, and NMEA.”

The 2016 IBEX Seminar Series will offer world-renowned technical education from fundamental skills to cutting-edge advanced training and is designed for shop floor crew, seasoned technicians, and company officers. Leading industry experts will offer attendees insight and information on problems they need solved, new materials and regulations, and other current industry topics. Proposals for seminars should be sent to: sarah@ibexshow.com by February 11, 2016.

“As Education Director, I intend to work closely with my peers to ensure IBEX not only addresses the needs of professionals who currently attend these seminars but also appeal to those who may be unaware that IBEX has such a robust program,” Sarah said.  “The IBEX seminar series has a long tradition of bringing the industry together to discuss and share new methods, compelling ideas, and interesting concepts. I deeply respect the integrity of this show and I want to be certain we continue that practice while revamping the entire experience. Look for positive changes in the coming year.”

After launching ProBoat’s online training venture, EMarineTraining, Sarah was a founding board member for the Marine Industry Training & Education Council (MITEC).  In addition to her writing career in the industry, Sarah’s education experience includes managing seminar programs for the International Marina & Boatyard Conference (IMBC) and the Commercial Marine Expo. The former North American correspondent for Marina World magazine, Sarah’s writing has appeared in such boating magazines as Professional BoatBuilder, WoodenBoat, and Maine Boats, Homes, and Harbors.
