On Wednesday, June 5, the Centre for Ocean Ventures and Entrepreneurship (COVE) held their first ever On-Water Demo Day. The full-day event featured leading ocean technology companies demonstrating their latest revolutionary advances on the Halifax Harbour from the marine-side facilities at COVE to hundreds of national and international delegates.

Demo Day was the kick-off event for the H2O Conference, hosted by the Ocean Technology Council of Nova Scotia (OTCNS), an annual conference that is quickly becoming a globally recognized hub of oceans expertise with the potential to be a significant contributor to a number of Global Value Chains associated with the oceans sector.

Below are participating companies and the technologies they demonstrated in brackets.

Turbulent Research (Articulated Pigs), Dalhousie University / CEOTR (Gliders and ROV), Kraken Robotics (facility tours), GeoSpectrum Inc. (M72-1000 C-Bass VLF Sound Source), Precise Design (workshop tours), LeeWay Marine (LeeWay Venture), and a preview of a joint project between Kongsberg Maritime, Lloyd’s Register, and Dalhousie University (K-Lander).
