CAMPION MARINE WAVES OF CHANGE 2020 DEALER MEETING INFORMED AND ENTERTAINED

Campion 2020 Year

Aug 10, 2019

Canada’s largest fiberglass boat builder, Campion Marine officially kicked off their 2020 model year with the Waves of Change dealer meeting.

Attending dealers and suppliers witnessed the official launch of Campion’s new logo, the unveiling of the new Rage R22 Multi Species performance fishing boat, new glass dash technology, future models in Virtual Reality, and were entertained by the Tragically Hip cover band the Hip Replacements.

“Campion has never, in its 46-year history, come to a dealer meeting with so much to present its dealers with” said Campion’s Director of Sales and Marketing. He continued to say that “it was like our dealers had 2 days of drinking from an information fire hose!”

Under their new ownership and management team, in addition to completely overhauling their branding and dealer programs, Campion launched their first new boat model in 12 years – the Rage R22 – and committed to 23 new models over the next 5 years.  The Rage R22 kicked off the new family of performance fishing boats and was a featured highlight of the show, unveiling it at the Sunday night dealer welcome reception to 125 onlookers.  The new model features Campions next generation APEX2 hull, 3-part interlocking unibody fiberglass construction, a full width swim platform, extended engine mounting system and was tested at the dealer meeting with Mercury Marine’s Pro XS 300hp engine to the delight of the dealers in attendance.  Campion’s boat designer Neil Gilbert said of the R22, and the future designs that are in process, “Campion doesn’t want to only meet the bar, they want to raise the bar and for a boat designer like me who loves creative work that’s a dream”.

With attendance up 50% year over year, Campion dealers got firsthand information as it relates to the company’s new direction, 5-year production plan and business strategy.  When asked of her opinion on the Waves of Change dealer meeting, Campion dealer Deborah Lineberry of Paris Marine said, “The Waves of Change 2020 dealer meeting not only gave me confidence in the direction that the new Campion is heading but was jam packed with valuable information and was super entertaining.  As a boat dealer, this meeting was very much worth my time.”

Campion is taking orders for the R22 immediately with full production to begin in December 2019.   Subsequent new models will be launched quarterly by Campion starting in January 2020.
