For the second consecutive year, Dometic Vancouver facility has earned a prestigious Employer of Choice Award, demonstrating the company’s ongoing commitment to employee satisfaction and providing a positive workplace environment.

Dometic has announced that its Vancouver, British Columbia facility has been named a 2023 Employer of Choice Award winner for the Marine Business Category. The award, recently bestowed by the publishers of leading trade journal Boating Industry Canada magazine, marks the second consecutive year Dometic Vancouver has been honored in this way. The company was also named a 2022 Employer of Choice.

“Receiving this recognition again is fitting testimony to the 500-plus employees who come to work here every day,” said Eric Fetchko, President of Marine Segment at Dometic. “We learned a lot during last year’s evaluation and judging process and used this information to make Dometic an even better and more rewarding place to work. The fact that we were recognized as an Employer of Choice in back-to-back years validates our efforts — and inspires us to find new ways to improve the work experience for all our employees,” added Fetchko.

This prestigious annual award is given to companies in two categories — the Marine Business category and the Dealers/Marinas category. This national award program was established to recognize and promote the best employers in the Canadian recreational boating industry. Kerwil Publications — publisher of Boating Industry Canada — partnered with Corporate Culture & Employer of Choice (CCEC) to bring this unique award program to Canada’s boating industry.

Earning an Employer of Choice award is an in-depth process that involves a detailed employee commitment survey. When a company enters the program, surveys are provided to employees so they can anonymously provide their personal perspectives on the company’s performance as an employer and share their honest opinions on how the company values its employees, rewards success, and fosters advancement.

When complete, this survey data is made available to the competing companies, so that they may use employee responses to help gain insight into what they are doing well, as well as what can be improved upon to help attract and keep the best talent in the industry.

Dometic’s Vancouver facility is responsible for the design, engineering and manufacture of Dometic’s popular SeaStar hydraulic steering systems, Optimus electric steering/control systems, and a wide range of other innovative solutions for today’s boating industry. Over many years, products tracing their roots to Dometic Vancouver have won numerous NMMA Innovation Awards.
