Legend Boats announces dramatic changes for 2025 with three new boat brands + an Exciting new addition to the Legend Lineup

2024 Partner Day

The new Vetta luxury pontoon tops the range

Dec 10, 2024

It’s impressive to me that Legend Boats could make such a significant change in one year but at their dealer meeting on September 10, the company announced many changes, including the introduction of four new boat lines; Halo pontoons, Vetta pontoons, Pulse roto-moulded boats, and a Legend Uttern series of fibreglass boats.

The dealer meeting was very well attended with 70% of their dealers in attendance and Legend hosted the event at the spectacular Friday Harbour Resort on Lake Simcoe, where there was plenty of room to take the boats out, drive them and really get a feel for what these new models were like out in the lake.

Presentations were made by many of the most senior members of the Legend management group including Marc Duhamel, Jamie Dewar, Jesse Davis, and others. Jesse Davis opened the meeting and explained that the audience would see the results of significant new planning and innovation. They had taken into consideration, feedback from dealers and customers saying that it was sometimes overwhelming to see the many different Legend model choices, options and variations. Ultimately, the company considered all the input and their response was to simplify their traditional Legend brands of aluminum utility and fishing boats and their aluminum pontoons while launching two distinctly new pontoon lines, Halo with a distinctive colourful and bright design theme and then at the top of the line, the new Vetta range. This will be their high-end line featuring Scandinavian design influences and features and optional equipment befitting a high-end product. While Legend continues as their primary value brand, Vetta is the new high-end the way Lincoln would be to Ford. The Vetta line will have four separate trim levels, the Kühl, Kuuma, Levata and the Elegans at the top of the range.

Jamie Dewar acknowledged that it can be difficult for consumers to understand the differences so, the four distinct levels in the Vetta collection are intended to be easy to understand.

They are not fooling around – they are demonstrating the stability of the 10-foot long roto-moulded Pulse model.

A surprising new product that was introduced is called Pulse and it is a 10’ roto-moulded boat that is quite beamy with a hull that could almost be described as a catamaran given the deeper outside sponsons for added stability. It’s not only a roto-moulded boat designed to withstand weather and rough treatment, it has a self-draining feature. You can leave the drain plug out, the boat tied up at the dock and not have to worry about it sinking, even in heavy rains.

A demonstration model was in the water equipped with the Mercury Avator 7.5 E electric motor. We took that out for a spin around the harbor. It would be an ideal package for children or adults fishing in nearshore waters. A second 10-foot Pulse was on display with a Mercury 15-horsepower ICE engine and although we didn’t get to drive that, we were told it was a blast.

Perhaps the biggest surprise though was the introduction of the Legend Uttern fibreglass deep-vee boats designed and built in Europe. Uttern is an existing European brand belonging to Venture Group in Europe and the designs reflect their Scandinavian heritage with features that appeal to buyers in Denmark, Sweden, and Norway. These boats and their designs also reflect the sizes and types of fiberglass boats that have long been successful in places like Quebec and Ontario, areas with very similar geography and climate to the Scandinavian countries. Features that appeal to buyers in Denmark, Sweden, and Norway include offshore-inspired deep vee fibreglass hulls, very high freeboard and handsome, innovative designs. One surprise was to discover that the line includes a closed deck Cuddy Cabin version. That would be unique in today’s market!
