During the 2020 National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA) Business Meeting held on September 26, a total of 19 marine products received top awards. The Maretron® N2KBuilder®  NMEA 2000® network design software was a winner in the new category of Marine Specialty Products. N2KBuilder software is a powerful, free PC-based tool for designing and verifying the integrity of NMEA 2000 networks. When installed on a Windows PC, N2KBuilder is used as part of an integrated design workflow to plan, document, and validate the design of complex NMEA 2000 networks. In addition, N2KBuilder will directly produce a bill of materials for Maretron products, eliminating guesswork and transcription errors.

Voted on by NMEA members, the 2020 Product of Excellence Award nominees were extensively vetted by staff and committee. “On behalf of the NMEA Board of Directors, staff, and membership, we congratulate all 2020 award winners,” said Mark Reedenauer, NMEA President & Executive Director. “The member voting count exceeded our expectations. This certainly sends the message to the market that manufacturers have focused on producing top quality products for the boating public, even during a pandemic. NMEA members, installers, and manufacturers have surely kept their eye on the ball.”

“Maretron is honored to receive this prestigious award from the members of NMEA,” said Kip Wasilewski, Maretron Director of Sales. “In addition to being our important partners, we appreciate the ongoing dedication of the NMEA manufacturers and members that drive NMEA standards and programing that ultimately benefit our customers.”

The NMEA Awards are coordinated by a committee consisting of: Brian Kane, Chief Technology Officer, GOST; Todd Tally, General Manager, Atlantic Marine Electronics; Chris Labozza, Executive Vice President, Precision Marine Center; Paul Comyns, Vice President of Global Marketing, Intellian; Bruce Cole, Manager and Advertising Director, Marine Electronics Journal; and Mark Reedenauer, President and Executive Director of the NMEA.

NMEA congratulates all 2020 winners and looks forward to an expanded awards program in 2021 when the NMEA Conference and Expo is scheduled to be held as a live, in-person event in Anaheim, California.

The association is very well supported and virtually any significant marine electronics company that you could name, was represented there on the Exhibitor list at the Expo as well as all being NMEA members and very supportive of the organization.
