XANTREX COLLABORATES WITH FILM AND TV INDUSTRY FIRM INVOLVED IN VANCOUVER OLYMPICS AND THE CANUCKS

Xantrex collaborates with HollyNorth, a Burnaby-based supplier to the film and entertainment industry, to create a Zamboni using a modified golf cart – a Fanboni, for the Vancouver Canucks. Capable of playing music and distributing T-shirts during tailgate parties, the Fanboni brought much excitement for the hockey fans and was widely reported by the media.

Xantrex, a very popular brand of AC power products, has the distinction of designing and manufacturing category-defining solutions for both commercial and recreational applications. HollyNorth, which specializes in providing equipment for props and special effects for TV and film, is known for its superior design and quality of the production. HollyNorth was chosen to create opening and closing ceremony effects for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games. Not surprisingly, they also helped design the Fanboni. Xantrex was the obvious choice for the onboard AC power solution. With HollyNorth’s creativity and Xantrex’s reliable Freedom HF inverter, the modified golf cart project – Fanboni – turned into a reality for the NHL team. Whether it is playing music at the tailgate party or shooting T-shirts from the organ pipe during the game, the Fanboni is a crowd pleaser everywhere.

“Xantrex products are very reliable. I use them for a lot of projects,” says the CEO and owner of HollyNorth, Mike Kaerne. “The Freedom HF, in particular, is light and compact so it fits in the small compartment, which is exactly what we needed for the Fanboni. The Freedom HF works perfectly with AGM batteries on the vehicle.”
