Yamaha Watercraft unveils new 22-foot boats plus, game-changing low-speed handling, dock assist and more

New Yamaha 22-Foot Model

Aug 29, 2022

On August 20th, Yamaha Motor Canada unveiled all-new, technology-rich 22-foot sport boats, a revolutionary low-speed handling and dock assist innovation that makes boating more fun for captains of all skill level, standard factory-integrated sound for FX WaveRunners® and Yamaha’s RecDeck accessories that expand the versatility of the VX and GP Series.

2023 SPORT BOATS

All-New 22-Foot Models
Yamaha’s seven new sport boats are nine inches longer with four inches higher freeboard at the bow. The base model 220 boats are powered by twin, TR-1 HO Yamaha marine engines. The 222 models come with more powerful 1.8L HO motors.

For the first time on a Yamaha boat, all 22-foot sport boats come with wireless charging. Exclusive to the 222SD and 222XD models are DRiVE paddle controls and swim-up seating. Most of the 22-foot boats will come with swim-up seating mounts pre-installed from the factory.

New Yamaha HelmREVOLUTIONARY LOW-SPEED HANDLING AND DOCK ASSIST TECHNOLOGY
“Game-changer” is an adjective overly used and often exaggerated, but that’s not the case when describing Yamaha’s new DRiVE X system.
DRiVE X is a combination of Yamaha DRiVE paddle control system that moves the boat forward and aft without taking your hands off the steering wheel, and new steering wheel functionality that slowly moves the boat to starboard or port, rotates on its axis, and can hold the boat against the dock for convenient loading and unloading of passengers.

2023 WAVERUNNERS
For 2023, accessories are the big news for Yamaha’s WaveRunners with the luxury FX Series getting standard audio speakers across the line, and Yamaha’s RecDeck accessories coming to the VX and GP models.

Standard Factory-Installed, Custom-Integrated Audio Speakers
All FX models except the FX HO now come standard with premium audio speakers that are controlled through the vibrant Connext multi-colour display. The package includes twin, 4.5” waterproof marine speakers, an integrated two-channel amplifier, easy-access control pad and an integrated low-voltage regulator to protect the battery.

Innovative RecDeck Platform
Yamaha’s popular RecDeck accessories are now available for VX and GP models, adding to their fun and versatility. All FX models will also come pre-drilled to mount the Yamaha RecDeck, making installation quicker and easier for dealer technicians and DIY owners.
The padded RecDeck is finished with Marine Mat and includes four cleats that connect the adjustable Multi-Use Rack accessory (sold separately). The Multi-Use Rack expands to fit most coolers, and it also serves as the seat structure for the Lounge and Beach seat accessory. Available accessory options for the RecDeck are the JetFish™ Packages, the Lounging Package and Tow Sports Package.
