Steve D’Antonio of Steve D’Antonio Marine Consulting Inc. speaks at IBEX Special Hurricane Recovery Session

Activity and positive energy continued throughout the conclusion of the International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition & Conference (IBEX) which included networking events, special education sessions, and new product launches. Overall attendance was up over 2016 and final numbers will be released early next week.

The marine industry got great news announced in a special session during IBEX; Governor Scott signed a Florida Executive Order designed to streamline rebuilding efforts on piers, docks, and marinas at private and commercial facilities. Following the announcement, more than a dozen industry experts offered their top advice on a range of post-storm subjects.

An engaged audience of both media and attendees watched the IBEX product pitches. Innovative products were selected by a panel of marine industry journalists and presenters were given two minutes to present. Companies participating were: Bluewater Marine Paint, Capria, Dripper Guard, FariaBeede Instruments, Forespar Corp., Glidecoat, GuritKerdyn Green, Life Cell, Lone Star Marine, Master Volt, SeaStar Solutions, SUREFAS, and Wave Wifi.Louisa Rudeen Beckett
