SEVENTEEN GRADUATES IN THE BOATING ONTARIO / AMI INTERMEDIATE MARINA MANAGER TRAINING COURSE

Boating Ontario was pleased to support the Association of Marina Industries (AMI) as they brought their acclaimed Intermediate Marina Manager training program to Ontario. Held in Barrie a total of 17 students (14 from Boating Ontario members) participated in 4 days of intense and detailed educational seminars along with an afternoon field trip to a couple of local marinas.

Boating Ontario is incredibly proud of the dedication and commitment of these 14 outstanding employees and the marinas they work with for investing in their futures. Lessons learned at this training will guide these staff in creating better business and consumer experiences while solidifying their own personal commitment to the marine industry.

Upon completion of their training, Boating Ontario was on hand to deliver support cheques to each member for $500.00 from the MarineWorx Development Fund. Now in it’s second year, the MarineWorx Fund is poised to deliver in excess of $30,000.00 back to member employees as they continue to expand their education.

The Intermediate Marina Management (IMM) course is the first step toward the globally recognized Certified Marina Manager (CMM) and Certified Marina Operator (CMO) certifications. “Education is the key to success of any business, and the AMI Training Institute is always exploring new regions where it can train marina industry professionals,” said AMI Training Coordinator, Merritt Alves. “We had a very successful IMM course in Barrie, and three attendees from that course are already registered for the institute’s Advanced Marina Management (AMM) course in Charleston, South Carolina, in February.”
