As the 2020 season comes to end, I would like to say congratulations to everyone in the industry. Twenty-Twenty has been one of the most challenging years that the industry, as a whole, has ever seen. The positive attitude and energy put forth has resulted in big wins across Canada. We are a resilient bunch. Pat yourselves on the back. Let’s keep the momentum going into 2021.

I speak to industry members daily and it’s the best part of my job. Right now, one of the hottest topics is marketing plans for the 2021 season. Many of you are still uncertain of what you plan to do so I am going to share some details of our recent planning with you. Nova Scotia & New Brunswick Boat ShowsMany businesses have had to be creative and find new ways to offer their services because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The Halifax International Boat Show, Moncton Boat Show, and NB Sportsmen & Fly Fishing Show normally take place each winter, but the 2021 editions of these events have been postponed to 2022.

In an effort to keep boating and outdoor enthusiasts connected with the show’s dealers and exhibitors, the event organizers have moved to an online platform: The Maritime Boating & Outdoor Digital Marketplace.

James Neophytou joins North South Nautical Group

James NeophytouJames was first introduced into boating in 1980, in the town of Port Severn. Almost immediately he developed a passion for boating and purchased his first boat, a 15’ Kodiak with a 50hp Johnson.

It wasn’t long before James got the ‘itch’ to move to a bigger boat. He and his family spent several years cruising the beautiful waters of Georgian Bay in their 23 Reinell. Unfortunately, a busy work schedule forced James to take a break from boat ownership. He knew though, that one day he’d return.
