Newfoundland boat company Coastal Adventures is expanding the reach of their flagship Coastal Vokey line into Ontario, Quebec, and the US in partnership with distribution company Coastal Distribution Group.

Having already gathered a strong east-coast following, the Coastal Vokey boats are becoming increasingly popular in other areas of Canada, particularly in areas with larger waterways, such as the Great Lakes and the St Lawrence River.

“It’s very rare that you see a Canadian-manufactured boat built in a small town,” Coastal Distribution Group Managing Director Kevin Boon said. “It’s creating jobs for Canadians, and dealers are excited about Canadian-built boats.”

Coastal Adventures is a second-generation business owned and operated by a family of Newfoundland boaters, based in Kings Point, NL. Their Coastal Vokey line is designed for deep lakes and offshore waters, with a deep V hull, flared bow and unsinkable 100 per cent fiberglass construction.

Coastal Adventures was recently approved for National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) certification, an important step as the company moves into a larger recreational market across Canada and the US.

“Ontario and Quebec are our two primary goals for Canada at this stage. And from Maine to Florida, there’s a great opportunity to build that market, too,” Boon says. “These boats are built for North America. We can go into any market that is ocean-based or has something like the Great Lakes.”

The Coastal Vokey line was introduced to the US market at the Annapolis Powerboat Show in October and is planning to be at the 2025 Toronto Boat Show in January.
