Four Winns’ new H9 is stunning!

Four Winns H9

July 2, 2024

As of July 1st, 2024 the embargo is lifted on the photos and information about Four Winns’ new H9 model and it is stunning!

About a month ago, I traveled to Charlevoix, MI for a special press event to introduce the H9 to a small group of journalists. The water and the weather were a bit cool but the sun was out and Lake Charlevoix was calm and the Four Winns H9 was very impressive. This is a 29-foot 11-inch luxury day boat with a 9- foot 2-inch beam and it features a fabulous expansive flat floor all the way from the bow rider area to the transom and the swim platform.

Perhaps the most impressive feature is something that no other boat in this size range offers; electrically activated side terraces. At the touch of a button, the aft sections of the hull sides fold outward to lie flat. This increasee the width of the aft deck by about 5-feet in total to give you lots of suntan or party room when you’re moored out at the sandbar. With the Four Winns H9, you bring the beach with you! But that’s not the only trick piece of equipment in this boat.

Four Winns H9

An electrically operated hard top provides shade and shelter from the elements. If it starts to rain or if you need to store the boat in a boathouse, the top electrically lowers to almost touch the top of the windshield.

Our test boat was equipped with twin Mercury 300XL Verado V8 outboards that proved to be impressively quiet and powerful. Even with a gang of people on board the acceleration was impressive and trimmed out, the boat was just flying with the top speed of close to 55 mph.

With handsome lines and a richly appointed interior including features like a private head compartment and a picnic galley, this book defines the best attributes of the day boating lifestyle.

Four Winns dealers should have the H9 available later this summer.

NMMA Canada’s Day on the Hill event hits a new high in 2024

CMRA

While the Day on the Hill lobby session has been a key activity for NMMA Canada for many years now, I feel that the event hit a new high in the 2024 session in Ottawa on May 27 and 28th.

Lead by Executive Director Marie-France MacKinnon and executed by her team and their public affairs firm, BlueSky Strategy Group, the results were impressive. The NMMA Canada Board of Directors were organized into teams with business interests and special skills matched up to politicians and senior bureaucrats to most effectively present the marine industry’s agenda of issues.

Compass works when electronics don’t

Hubbell-Marine Stainless steel outlet covers

Even in the event of an onboard power failure, a Ritchie Navigation SuperSport Helmsman SS-1002 magnetic compass still works. Plus, when the vessel is moving slowly in fog or while trolling, it can do something a GPS can’t: show the actual heading in real time. As a back-up to modern electronics, it’s a vital navigational tool that belongs on every commercial and recreational boat.
