New GOST® Specter Ai With KVH Starlink Global Priority Service Showcased On ‘The Last Mango Experience’

New GOST Spekter AI

May 20, 2025

GOST  a leader in marine security, tracking, monitoring, and video surveillance systems, has announced that the company has joined forces with KVH Industries, a global leader in mobile connectivity, to integrate tracking and security technology for Last Mango, a custom 42-foot Freeman commissioned by the late Jimmy Buffett.

The Last Mango, is captained by Vinnie LaSorsa and will be traveling the East Coast of the United States offering The Last Mango Experience – a once-in-a-lifetime Jimmy Buffett-themed tour. Each stop will provide guests with a fishing excursion for striped bass and flounder; bottom fishing for snapper and grouper; and kite fishing for sailfish, mahi, kingfish, wahoo, and tuna. The Last Mango Experience also gives eco/nature tours that can include whale, porpoise and/or seal sightseeing, and sunset/harbor/cocktail cruises.

Freeman Boatworks, Merritt Boatworks, and Pipewelders Marine collaborated on the construction of Last Mango, named in homage to Buffett’s 1985 country-tinged album Last Mango in Paris. The vessel includes the all-new GOST Specter Ai Central Intelligence Unit (CIU) video surveillance solution, supported by the data connectivity of Starlink service from KVH to stay connected onboard and back to shore. By leveraging artificial intelligence, GOST Specter Ai harnesses any camera RTSP stream on the network and enhances it with advanced computer vision and machine learning technologies. It enables GOST to provide customers with real-time monitoring, intelligent threat detection with facial recognition, and seamless vessel integration through one remote platform.

LaSorsa, Buffett’s longtime boatswain, championed the construction of Last Mango, selecting the best components to create the ultimate fishing vessel.

“It’s going to be an exciting summer making memories on these custom trips,” said LaSorsa. “All of our partners have been so excited to be a part of this project, particularly GOST and KVH as they are providing communications, tracking, and security and keeping our guests connected at sea. Not only will we be traveling the East Coast offering amazing fishing excursions, but along the way, we’ll be taking the opportunity to show off all of the technology this boat incorporates.”

“Over the years, we’ve had so many unique opportunities to work on security projects for people in the limelight who share a passion for the sea,” said Brian Kane, CEO of GOST. “Our new Specter Ai works seamlessly for notification with Starlink Global Priority Data from KVH and gives our mutual customers the most cutting-edge surveillance with network priority and fleet management. We are thrilled to be a part of the project and know that every guest on the Last Mango will have the time of their lives.”
