HanseYachts AG introduces its new motorboat brand: RYCK Yachts

HanseYachts AG: RYCK Yachts

Aug 17, 2021

HanseYachts AG presents RYCK, its third motorboat brand carrying the “Made in Germany” label. The new brand was developed in Greifswald in cooperation with yacht designer Bill Dixon, and is aimed specifically at sports-minded skippers and crews in the weekender segment.

The first model from the new brand is the RYCK 280, which combines superior handling characteristics with a stylish design, and meets the most diverse customer demands. The RYCK can be configured in a variety of ways to achieve the best possible layout for its intended use.

Performance and comfort highlights of the new RYCK 280

Deck: A 25cm-wide walkaround deck, guard railing and high freeboard all serve to make this a very safe boat. The stepless cockpit offers a lot of space and freedom of movement and, in addition to the standard L-shaped bench seat, can also be equipped with a table, fridge and a wetbar including a grill or cooker. The backrest of the bench seat folds down to create a second lounging area that complements the sunpad on the foredeck. With the T-top and two additional awnings, the entire deck area can be shaded, while optional fishing rod holders and a tow bar for water skiing also appeal to active crew members. The large bathing platform with its ladder and a stern shower with hot and cold water make for carefree fun in the water. A bowsprit with integrated anchor arm and an electric windlass guarantee safe and comfortable anchoring.

Interior: Below deck, the customer can opt for a modern furnished cabin with a large double berth; or for a large storage space for water sports equipment. A separate wet room is fitted as standard. The large windows in the coachroof allow plenty of natural light and fresh air into the interior.

Hull: The stepped hull ensures the best rough water characteristics, while the reverse bow underlines the modern and elegant design of the RYCK 280.

Helm station and engine: Well-protected by a stylish windscreen, the ergonomic driving position can be enhanced with a glass bridge control panel that includes two 12in plotters. A Mercury Verado outboard provides all the necessary power, with a choice of 250, 300 or 350hp.

CEO Dr. Jens Gerhardt said: “The very name of HanseYachts AG comes from the extremely successful Hanseatic League, in which Greifswald played an important role. We continue the shipping, trading and boatbuilding traditions of this city and are constantly developing them further. The first waterway that the new boats from RYCK Yachts will sail is the Ryck river. Along it, our boats not only reach the Greifswalder Bodden as part of the Baltic Sea, they are distributed all over the world. The choice of name closes another circle for us, but also represents a declaration of loyalty from HanseYachts to this region.”

Product Manager Andrea Zambonini said: “Our customers can expect a true all-rounder with an outstanding design that will enrich the powerboat sector. The RYCK 280 is easy to manoeuvre and also trailable, making it a flexible weekender in waters both near and far.”

The newly developed 3D configurator on the RYCK website allows you to explore and customise all options of the RYCK 280.

The name RYCK is based on the river of the same name that flows through Greifswald and connects the main production site of HanseYachts AG to the Baltic Sea. Since the company was founded in 1990 on the northern bank of the Ryck, HanseYachts AG has developed into one of the world’s largest manufacturers of series-produced sailing and motor yachts.

The portfolio of HanseYachts AG currently includes seven brands, of which Hanse, Dehler and Moody cover the sailing yacht segment, while FJORD, SEALINE and RYCK Yachts serve the motor boat market. The luxury catamaran brand Privilège produces sailing and motor yachts in Les Sables d’Olonne, France.

World Premiere of the RYCK 280 will be at the Cannes Yachting Festival from 7-12 September, in the Vieux Port, stand QML 259.
