SCHMITT & ONGARO MINI HORNS SMALL ON SIZE, BIG ON TONE

Mini Horns

Feb 18, 2020

Stainless Steel Mini Horns from Schmitt & Ongaro Marine are the perfect solution for small boats where space is at a premium. Ideal for refit and OEM, six 12V models are available that top or flush mount, or install unobtrusively out of the way.

While the US Coast Guard doesn’t have a minimum decibel rating for sound-producing devices on vessels under 39.4′, Schmitt & Ongaro’s Mini Horns conform to ABYC A-23 standards. They offer sufficient volume for signaling over distance and have a clear, pleasing tone. Recordings of the single and twin Mini Horns are at bit.ly/HornTones.

Mini Compact Single Horns are available in a weather-resistant Standard version or All Stainless Steel. They’re ideal for installing above or below dashes, consoles and other exposed components. Measuring only 3″ L x 3-1/4″ W x 1-3/4″ H, they produce 105db at 1m FF 410Hz +/20 and draw only 3 amps.

The Standard and All Stainless Mini Hidden Compact Single Horns are designed to be unseen, but provide the same weather-resistance that Schmitt & Ongaro horns are known for. They measure 3″ L x 3-1/4″ W x 1-3/4″ H. They draw 3A and produce 105db at 1m FF 410 Hz +/20.

Flush-mount Stainless Steel Mini Drop-In Single Horns are available in high or low pitch, or paired together for a distinctive tone. Each measures 3″ L x 3-1/4″ W x 1-3/4” H with a 4-7/8″ L x 2-3/8″ W grille, and require a 4″ hole. Producing 106db at 1m FF 410Hz +/20, they draw 3A.

Schmitt & Ongaro Mini Horns are pre-wired for fast and simple installation. The American MSRP for the Compact Mini Horns start at $43.70 USD; Hidden, $34.50 USD; and Drop-In, $60.50 USD. They come with a five-year anti-rust and corrosion warranty and one-year on the internal electric contacts.
