Eight Bells – David Wilde

October 7, 2025

We learned from Boating Ontario, about the passing of David Wilde on September 25th, 2025 at the age of 76.

Born in Collingwood and raised on the beaches of Wasaga at his family’s “Johnnie’s Cabins,” David found his life-long connection to the water early on. In 1969, he joined Wasaga Marine, beginning a remarkable career that would span more than 50 years in the Ontario marine industry.

David’s contributions went far beyond his professional work. As a founding member of the Wasaga Kinsmen Club, he forged life-long friendships and gave back generously to his community. Known for his optimism, honesty, and indomitable spirit, David became a trusted friend and mentor to many across the marine sector.

Whether through his leadership at Wasaga Marine, his commitment to community, or the countless adventures he shared on and off the water, David leaves a lasting legacy that will be remembered fondly by family, friends, and colleagues throughout Ontario’s boating community.

Boating Ontario extends heartfelt condolences to David’s wife Anne Marie, his children and stepchildren, grandchildren, and extended family during this difficult time.
