Through Boating Ontario, we learned the news of Terry Smith’s sudden passing on Monday May 22, 2023 at the age of 74.

Beloved husband of Beverley Marlene (Samis). Loving father to Sean (Tamara Short), Ryan (Amie deVeth). Loving Poppa to Jessica, Taylor, Sam and Ally. Loving son of the late Charles and Pauline Smith and son-in-law of Fred and Verna Samis. Loving brother to David (predeceased) Judy (Peter predeceased) Pillman, Peggy (Jack) Rose. Brother-in-law to Donna (Don) Griffin, Albert (Diane) Samis, Stuart Samis (Tresa Doran) and predeceased by sister-in-law Marj Samis. Loving uncle, cousin and nephew to many. Terry was loved, and respected by all who knew him. Terry lived life to its fullest, and took every adventure that came his way!

We say goodbye to him for now, as he takes his final journey to join all his family and friends who have passed before him. He has left us all with so many precious memories that we will cherish and keep in our hearts forever. Cremation has taken place. An announcement of his celebration of life will follow in the coming weeks so that all who knew and loved him can share their memories with us. The Celebration of Life for Terry Smith will take place on Sunday August 20, 2023 from 1 to 4 PM at the ODAS Park Banquet Hall, 4500 Fairgrounds Road, Severn, ON. The family invites you to share your memories of Terry at this time.

BC Ferries vessel Queen of Surrey is expected to remain out of commission until the end of the month, according to BC Ferries.
