Dealer Best Practices Workshop

The Boating Ontario Dealer Association is excited to host the 2nd annual ‘Best Practices Workshop’ on Wednesday April 8, 2015  8:30am – 4:30pm at the Nottawasaga Inn & Resort, Alliston, ON.  The cost is $100 plus HST.

This is a CPYB accredited event which is sure to provide professionals within the marine industry valuable information that will benefit their businesses. Delegates will learn how to increase sales, the basics of video production, gain a better understanding of importing and exporting boats, foreign exchange and how to use new technology  and focus your marketing efforts towards your customer.

What’s on the Agenda?

Technological Advancements
Augmented/Virtual Reality is an amazing technology and the definitive answer to dramatically improving the Marine Industry and its bottom line.  As 10 year Professionals in the Marine and AVR industry TorbayPalumbi have created the ultimate marine sales tool that has bridged the gap between the Pre and Post Digital Media Eras. Consumers will be re-engaged in the real world by unique influences from the Augmented * Virtual World.  The best part of this process is a new technology or mass media device didn’t have to be created, it already existed and practically every person in the world presently has a version of it, which is either a mobile phone, tablet or computer. Augmented Virtual Reality and this Marine Sales Tool will change the face of the Marine Industry forever.

Keynote Speaker:
This year’s keynote speaker is Glenn Roller of The Glenn Roller Institute. Glenn is well known for his ability to provide dealers comprehensive sales training that takes any salesperson from a basic to an advanced level of sales competency.  He will share with us, what can be learned when viewing sales through the lenses of both the domestic and international platforms? When viewed from this perspective there emerged 7 distinct patterns ranging from lethargic to inspiring with manipulation being the centre point. Glenn will unveil the differences so that you may increase sales from a dealership to a manufacturer’s perspective.

Testimonial from Doug Hyde, General Manager of George’s Marine & Sports in Kingston had this to say about Glenn Roller: “Since starting the Glenn Roller program, I have changed my approach to Sales and now spend energy more wisely on what really matters – the customer’s needs. Glenn’s approach is very methodical, altruistic and genuine – not in selling boats, but helping people purchase boats. There is a difference, and Glenn has greatly influenced my success and given me more confidence as I progress through his Program”.

Video drives sales
Tips from the pros on how to use it for your dealership.
Basics on video production. Why you need to be using video in today’s market, how to compete with video on social media networks and the use of real world examples from iPhones to drones.

Mobile Interactive Session: 2015 and Beyond
Boating Ontario Dealers wants you to share your thoughts on various industry topics. Using a simple application that works well for live audiences, we will ask questions and you will participate by sending your answers to the event coordinator using your smartphone, tablet, computer etc. Responses will update and show in real time at the event.

Need a Mechanic?
The Georgian College Marine Mechanic One-Year program has hit a record low. There is a significant number of marine mechanics necessary to fullfil the services within the industry. This is a serious issue for the marine industry overall and the question that remains is – how will the marine industry address the current shortage of Marine Technicians.

Testimonial about Dealer Best Practices 2014
“It was a great event, with a broad range of dealers and brokers in attendance. I have heard most of the speakers before but would see them all again. They are all first class and the Boating Ontario Dealer Association put together a great line-up.  The timing and venue are ideal for annual Best Practices Workshops and dealers that participate will benefit greatly.”
