EXPANDED DOCK EXHIBITS TO BE FEATURED AT IBEX

Ibex Dock Exhibits

Sept 1, 2016

Five Dockside Seminars will be Offered Through IBEX Education Partners NMMA and ABYC

The Dock Exhibits will be featured at The International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition and Conference (IBEX) taking place October 4-6, 2016 at the Tampa Convention Center. Several companies have already booked their dock space including BRP US Inc., GEM Products Inc., Honda Marine, JL Audio Inc., Lumitec, Inc., Medallion Instrumentation Systems, Mercury Marine, SeaStar Solutions, Simrad-Navico, Suzuki Motor of America, Inc., Torqeedo Inc, UFLEX USA, Volvo Penta, and Yamaha Motor Corporation who will showcase their products directly from the water on their boats.

“The IBEX docks have doubled in size this year, and we are very happy to be able to offer this display option to more exhibitors,” said Anne Dunbar, IBEX Show Director. “The addition of live sea trials adds an exciting new dimension to IBEX by creating a unique selling opportunity for the exhibitors, and an enjoyable and memorable show experience for visitors. The exhibitors who take advantage of the docks space to do live demonstrations for their customers find this feature of IBEX unique and valuable.

Here is a link to the dock space and a preview of the IBEX Docks:

“Yamaha looks forward to IBEX again in Tampa and the unique opportunities this venue provides.  In the water, Yamaha will be showcasing Helm Master, the fully integrated boat control system for both 4.2L and 2.8L digitally-controlled outboards.  In addition, we’ll have the in-booth display with our newest outboards and all of our rigging items and propellers.  It’s a great place for boat builders to stop by and talk about all the advantages of Yamaha outboard power,” said David Meeler, Yamaha Marine Product Planning and Information Manager.

“It seems that industry-wide there’s an unusually high amount of excitement and anticipation around this year’s IBEX show.  Certainly it is the case within Lumitec.  As always, we have a fairly extensive new product lineup for the show.  We are very excited about our SeaBlaze Mini Spectrum for example.  This is a full-color RGBW underwater light offering all the features of our industry-leading SeaBlazeX Spectrum, but in a smaller package for skiffs and trailer boats.  We are also pleased to be unveiling an expanded down light offering and additions to our flood light lineup.  Of course, the Tampa venue also offers us a unique and useful opportunity to show our products installed and in use by allowing us to have both of our factory boats on-site.  From the engine room lights in our sportfish to the livewell lights on our center console, boat builders will be able to experience first-hand virtually our entire product lineup installed and in-use,” said Michael Kestner, Senior Industrial Designer, Lumitec.

“Honda Marine is excited to be debuting several new products at IBEX 2016; including an all new outboard, white colored 200, 225 and 250 in both electronic (iST) and cable shift models, a new tiller handle for the 40, 50, 75, 90 and 100hp models, three new jet models and other new rigging components.  In addition to the seeing our products on the water, we will be in booth 925,” said Steve Drenkard, Honda Marine.

In addition, IBEX is offering a total of five dockside seminars through its education partners NMMA and ABYC. An IBEX first, NMMA’s Onboard Diagnostics starts in a classroom setting with trips out to the docks outside the convention center to combine theoretical study and hands-on training. This panel of experts from Rinda Technologies, Indmar Products, and Volvo Penta, led by John McKnight of NMMA, will walk you through the functions of available scanning tools before diagnosing simulated engine problems in real time.

To further IBEX’s dockside training, ABYC-certified master marine technician Kevin Ritz returns to Tampa to walk attendees through Grounding and Galvanic Corrosion and Electrical Troubleshooting, aboard a vessel brought to IBEX specifically for this purpose. Offered on both Wednesday and Thursday, these are very popular seminars with limited registration due to the in-depth level of training. The Wednesday trainings are sold out but there are some spots available on Thursday.

In addition to the Dock Exhibits there will also be outdoor demonstration exhibits from Gatorbak LLC, Infinity Woven Products LLC, Roswell Marine and Tides Marine Inc. For more information, visit www.ibexshow.com.
