Glen Spartz

Sept 18, 2016

Glenn Spartz is our Impact profile feature subject, recognizing the key role he played in the Marine Mechanical Technician (MMT) program offered through BCIT with support from Boating BC. Since its introduction, the MMT program has proven a huge success. The program can accommodate 16 students per intake, and the first intake of students from January 2015 have graduated and are now out working in the boatyards. The fall 2015 classes were full, and there was a waiting list for the January 2016 Level 2 classes. Read all about this important and positive story.

Also in the August issue, the ABYC again invites our readers to spot “What’s Wrong With This Picture?” Take a minute to test your own skills. Glen Cairns continues the Made In Canada series profiling Dock Edge and Kobelt Manufacturing. Coastal Craft, another Canadian success story, talks about how they built an accessible yacht for a couple where the wife was confined to a wheelchair, but still wanted to keep on boating.

All this and more in the August 2016 issue of Boating Industry Canada magazine.
