In business for more than 30 years, Thomas Marine Group has announced a major expansion with three new locations for 2017. With already four established dealerships in the greater Montreal region including St-Charles-sur-Richelieu, Sorel, Laval as well as the original head office situated in Varennes, Thomas Marine will be adding an additional on-the-water facility in Laval and two full-service marinas in the Gatineau region on the Ottawa River. The bold move represents over 5 million dollars in acquisition and according to the Thomas Family, the most important growth in the history of the company.

“We have been considering expanding our services in Laval for quite some time. Our customers in the north part of the city will now benefit from a full service, on-the-water facility with ample space for storage for over 400 boats, mechanics and boat trials.” states Marc-André Thomas, Vice-President, Thomas Marine Group. “The Gatineau region has also been in our sights but we knew that if we wanted to succeed in that market, we would have to come in very seriously. We are extremely proud to be able to bring our expertise, incredible product lines and above all service to the Ottawa River with two ideally situated locations.”

The first new expansion is the former Marina Venise in Ste-Rose, Laval. This location will serve as an extension to the existing Laval location as all parts and services will be transferred there. The new 300,000ft2 facility will continue servicing the hydroplane business that exists and will feature a boat launch ramp as well. Meanwhile, the Laval location will benefit from an expanded showroom that will house and display even more offerings.

The second location is the former Martha’s Cove Marina located in Brownsburg, Quebec.

Situated in a calm bay on the Ottawa River next to the Brownsburg-Chatham campground and just across from the Voyageur Provincial Ontario Park, this dealership will feature boat sales, parts and service, storage, diesel gas, boat ramp and is fully capable to handle crafts up to 50 feet in length.

The third and final location will expand the Thomas Marine footprint westward into the Gatineau region. Formerly known as Marina Leblanc et Fils, the facility features over 90x boat slips in a protected space surrounded by a break wall. Equipped with a 30 ton capable Travel Lift that will be able to manipulate bigger crafts, this location will also feature a showroom, parts and service, storage and boat ramp.

Naturally, all new locations will offer the incredible products and services that Thomas Marine has become famous for. From fishing boats to pontoons, cruisers to even yachts, the new locations will provide a vast selection for new and existing customers alike. All outboard motors will of course be provided by Mercury Marine as well as hundreds of other premium brands in accessories and aftermarket options. Last but not least, this expansion represents additional storage space to accommodate a total of 800 more boats than before.

With a total of now seven locations across Quebec, Thomas Marine Group is poised to offer the ultimate service to all boating and fishing enthusiasts. This major expansion represents without a doubt, Thomas Marine’s relentless commitment to the growth of Quebec’s marine recreation scene. All three expansion locations are scheduled to be open for business throughout this season.

The association is very well supported and virtually any significant marine electronics company that you could name, was represented there on the Exhibitor list at the Expo as well as all being NMEA members and very supportive of the organization.
