RARITAN MACERATOR PUMP EARNS US PATENT

Raritan Macerator

May 7, 2017

Anyone who has disconnected a marine sanitation macerator pump for maintenance or repair knows what a noxious and dangerous mess it can make. Raritan Engineering’s 53101 Macerator Pump with Waste Valve eliminates this scenario, making servicing clean, quick and easy. In acknowledgement of its technical innovation, the product was awarded US patent 9,617,993.

The 53101 model starts with Raritan’s renowned macerator pump. It features a special nitrile rubber impeller that will run dry three times longer than the competition. Its spring-loaded, Viton motor shaft seal reduces leakage. Stainless steel fasteners and a heavy duty chopper ensure a long service life. Adaptable, it’s available in 12 or 24V DC, and will discharge left, right or from the top.

The Waste Valve isolates the impeller housing from the holding tank discharge port. To service the pump, it’s simply a matter of turning the waste valve lever to the closed position and separating the quick disconnect assembly—no more hose clamps and brittle, leak-prone rubber couplings. “Our customers appreciate the reliability our products provide, but few understand what it takes to get to that point,” said Vinod Mehta, Raritan VP of manufacturing and engineering. “This patent validates the pioneering work we’re continually doing to advance marine sanitation.”
