2020 Canadian Boating Statistical Abstract: Retail Markets Report now available

The 2020 Canadian Retail Markets report is now available as a part of the 2020 Canadian Boating Statistical Abstract. This report details new recreational boat and marine engine retail sales data (both unit totals and Canadian dollars) categorized by size, type, and province/territory. Total new boat unit sales across Canada increased 5% compared to 2019.

Additional key insights from the report include:

• Multiple boat categories had unit sales increases in 2020 including new outboard boats, which saw a 9.8% increase in unit sales, and new inboard boats, which saw a 6.5% increase in unit sales compared to 2019.

• New boat sales dollars in Canada increased 7.7% compared to 2019.

• Unit sales of outboard engines increased by 17.2% compared to 2019. Ontario, Quebec, and British Columbia ranked the top three provinces for all outboard engine sales.
