NMMA Canada submits Pre-Budget letter to Finance Minister

NMMA Canada

Mar 7, 2022

In a communication to their members, NMMA Canada announced that the organization had recently submitted comments to Minister Freeland as part of the formal pre-budget consultation. To view the submission, click here.

Last week the NMMA provided an industry update on the luxury tax in their regular newsletter. They have since received more feedback on how we should approach the tax if/when it comes into effect. NMMA thanks the industry for engaging. They are 100% opposed to the tax and that has been their position all the way through. There has been discussion within the industry about how to lessen the damage should the tax be implemented. NMMA Canada highlighted a few of these potential ideas in their newsletter, but these are not final nor exclusive and have not been communicated to the government at this point. Regardless, until we see the details of the draft legislation from the government their focus will remain opposing the tax and highlighting the damage to the industry. NMMA Canada President Sara Anghel added that if you are already experiencing impacts to your business, please contact us.
