Family-owned boat builder KingFisher Boats has been recognized for safety excellence from the Manufacturing Safety Alliance of BC. The Joint Health and Safety Award was a recognition provided due to the efforts of the KingFisher Boats safety committee, who meet regularly to highlight and prevent workplace injuries.

“Joint Health and Safety Committee are very proud of our accomplishments as we work together to improve not only the work of our Committee but safety for all employees here at Kingfisher.” said Bill Greene, JHSC Employer Co-Chair “This award is thanks to the dedication and commitment from our committee, and the entire KingFisher team”

The Manufacturing Safety Alliance of BC recognizes manufacturers for health and safety excellence—these awards support partnering with BC’s industry leaders to achieve cultural change that ensures safe workplaces for all employees.

“We were thrilled to recognize Kingfisher Boats for their strategic and structured approach to leveraging the Joint Health and Safety Committee for prevention” Lisa McGuire, CEO, Manufacturing Safety Alliance of BC. “Their dedication to the health and safety of their people and communities is both commendable and inspiring.”

KingFisher Boats has recently announced a facilities expansion with two new purpose-built buildings to support record market demand including a dedicated space for product development to lead innovation. The expansion also creates jobs in the greater Vernon area with new positions to become available over the next year.
