Ritchie Navigation, the world’s largest and oldest manufacturer of magnetic compasses, has hired Patrick Dempsey as its sales and service lead. Jon Sherman, company president, made the announcement.

Dempsey joins Ritchie with a strong customer service background. In his new role, he will be the main contact for consumer assistance with selection, installation and use of the full range of compasses. Responsible for parts, he will evaluate products returned under warranty and decide on replacement or renovation through Ritchie’s Factory Reconditioning Program.

Before Ritchie, Dempsey worked within the technology sector, providing him with a wide range of transferable skills. Most recently, he was a sourcing associate II with SimpliSafe. Prior, he was a technical recruiter at The Computer Merchant. Dempsey has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bridgewater State University, Bridgewater, Massachusetts.

“We’re pleased Pat has joined our team,” said Sherman. “His solid background in customer service and ability to communicate technical details to customers will become a valuable asset for Ritchie.”
