Do you have an outstanding technician you would like to honor? Submissions for ABYC’s 2023 Outstanding Technician Award are now open. Here you can nominate a marine service technician you wish to recognize for their hard work and dedication to the industry.

ABYC will select 5 winners during International Marine Service Technician Week to receive $100 VISA gift cards and a technician prize pack with various giveaways. Winners of the Outstanding Technician Award will be announced Thursday, April 27th, and highlighted on ABYC’s social media accounts and website.

Submissions are due by end of day Monday, April 14th.

Wondering How to Participate?
Join ABYC in highlighting marine techs on social media! For each day of International Marine Service Technician Week ABYC will be celebrating marine techs of all different backgrounds. We encourage you to tie into the themes below for your social media efforts throughout the week.

International Marine Service Technician Week Theme Days
Monday, April 24 – Long-time industry members
Tuesday, April 25 – Marine service programs and schools (secondary and post-secondary)
Wednesday, April 26 – Female technicians
Thursday, April 27 – Outstanding Technician Announcements (Share your own outstanding tech!)
Friday, April 28 – The future of the industry; aspiring technicians and educators

Remember to tag ABYC in your posts and use the hashtags#MarineServiceTechWeek and #ThankYouMarineTechs. You can check out these hashtags now to see how people celebrated last year.

The 2024 Marine Electronics Conference & Expo, held by the National Marine Electronics Association, (NMEA) took place September 16 to the 20th in Providence, Rhode Island. Boating Industry Canada was there for the first time and we were very impressed with what we found.

The association is very well supported and virtually any significant marine electronics company that you could name, was represented there on the Exhibitor list at the Expo as well as all being NMEA members and very supportive of the organization.

Mercury Racing unveils new 150R/200R V6 outboards during the 2024 Cannes Yachting Festival
