Canadian Power and Sail Squadrons launches www.BoatLicenceCanada.ca

Apr 18, 2023

www.BoatLicenceCanada.ca is the Pleasure Craft Operator’s Card course you will want to recommend to your friends and customers!

Established way back in 1938 as Canada’s original boating education organization, the Canadian Power and Sail Squadrons are Canada’s best known and most respected boating organization. The “Power Squadron” was founded out of a dedication to safe boating through education and knowledge. The Power Squadron was also one of the first to launch their comprehensive Pleasure Craft Operator’s Card course when Transport Canada established new licencing requirements to operate a powered boat.

Although some other organizations also offer courses, the Canadian Power Squadron’s Pleasure Craft Operator’s card (PCOC) programs, gives their PCOC card holders some important benefits.

The Canadian Power Squadron’s Pleasure Craft Operator’s Card course was developed by boaters for boaters and your Power Squadron PCOC card automatically has NASBLA Approval so it is recognized by the United States Coast Guard. That means your Canadian Power Squadron PCOC card is recognized both here, and in the USA when you travel on vacation or visit by boat.

The new www.BoatLicenceCanada.ca website is an excellent, user-friendly online course featuring open book quizzes and unlimited test retries. The course is competitively priced too. BoatLicenceCanada.ca was designed by boaters for boaters. The Power Squadron is a non-profit community of boaters supporting boaters by offering a wide range of other boating education and courses including the VHF Radio course and being the VHF licensing authority as well.

Go to www.BoatLicenceCanada.ca,  pass the test, print your temporary card and go! Your permanent card will arrive in the mail and it’s good for life. If you prefer the experience of learning in a classroom setting, there are also live courses offered in many communities across Canada in both English and French.

Rest easy knowing that if your card is ever lost or damaged, the Canadian Power and Sail Squadrons stands behind it and can provide a replacement card quickly.

For more information, go online to www.cps-ecp.ca or call in-person: 1-888-CPS-BOAT

The 2024 Marine Electronics Conference & Expo, held by the National Marine Electronics Association, (NMEA) took place September 16 to the 20th in Providence, Rhode Island. Boating Industry Canada was there for the first time and we were very impressed with what we found.

The association is very well supported and virtually any significant marine electronics company that you could name, was represented there on the Exhibitor list at the Expo as well as all being NMEA members and very supportive of the organization.
