The Quadrant Marine Institute is reintroducing the Marine Service Industry

Quadrant Marine Institute Program

May 2, 2023

Thanks to their growing team, this year Quadrant Marine has been able to do more community outreach than ever done before. That means representing the Marine Service Industry across Metro Vancouver and the Greater Victoria Area at high schools, career fairs, trade shows, and more. It’s a big job to showcase this trade – the skills our work cover involve knowledge from at least a dozen trades.

To showcase this a bit better we did exactly what a trades school is supposed to do, build a project board! Our Career Sampler board is the perfect tool to engage youth in the work of a Marine Service Technician. Getting the hands-on experience to try out some electrical, wood working, fairing, and installations is hands down the best way to experience this trade.

With over 3 million Canadians working as a trades professional, there are still many groups under-represented. Learning tools like this show students of all backgrounds and identities that a future career in trades (especially in Marine Service) is not only possible, but also an exciting option when they leave high school. Marine Service goes back thousands of years, across every continent and culture so we’re more than happy reintroducing this life to everyone!
