As the Product Operations Manager at Boatyard, Sasha has made significant contributions to the marine industry with her unique blend of expertise in product strategy and her deep understanding of customer needs. Her bachelor’s degree in automotive engineering from Oxford Brookes University, combined with her three years of experience in managing product processes, have empowered her to drive impactful change for marine service teams across North America.

When asked about her motivations for entering the marine industry, Sasha shared, “Growing up in Europe, I had a deep connection with boats and the water. Joining the marine industry was a natural choice for me. It’s an industry where I can make a real difference and contribute to positive change. Joining Boatyard was a dream come true, as it allows me to combine my passion for boating with my expertise in product management.”

One of Sasha’s notable achievements in the marine industry has been the successful launch of Boatyard’s Customer Portal. Through extensive research and a customer-centric approach, Sasha and her team developed an innovative product that tackles the challenges experienced by boat owners. The Customer Portal has garnered overwhelmingly positive feedback and has rekindled the joy of boat ownership for many.

Reflecting on her experience in the marine industry, Sasha commented, “Navigating a career in the marine industry has had its unique challenges. However, I consider myself incredibly fortunate to be part of the Boatyard team. The close-knit and highly supportive environment has played a vital role in my personal and professional growth. The wisdom and camaraderie of my peers and industry professionals have been invaluable, teaching me important lessons and fostering collaboration.”

Sasha is committed to inspiring other women in the marine industry and breaking gender barriers. She actively participates in programs that encourage young women to explore tech careers and hopes to initiate similar initiatives within the marine field. By openly sharing experiences and advocating for the contributions of women, Sasha believes in igniting a spark in others and empowering more women to embark on fulfilling journeys in the marine industry.

For women starting their careers in the marine industry, Sasha offers this advice: “Don’t be afraid to ask questions and challenge assumptions. Growth and progress come from embracing change and fearlessly questioning the status quo.”

When Sasha is not immersed in the marine industry, she enjoys spending quality time with her family. With three teenagers and four dogs, she embraces outdoor activities and cherishes moments of gardening and connecting with nature.
